| | yeah yeah! it's been about 2 weeks since i've been done...and what have i been doing to enjoy the break?
1) go into school to prep and plan for september cuz august is gonna be crazy busy...
2) played guitar hero (I'm on medium now)
3) cleaned up and organized papers which have just accumulated over 3 years...here...gah...
4) lotta cleaning...basically a week and a half of cleaning and organizing papers so far..
5) I'll let you know the next time I post...
oh...and side note, I met the new gifted gr. 5 teacher...seems nice...I noticed the gifted gr. 6 teacher went in and made friends right away...i dunno if i'm cynical or something but it sounded like she was building up for an ally...we'll see...
for now, i gotta go keep planning on the gr. 5 sci and ss program...it's gonna be pretty different teaching a full class in the afternoon...one thing's for sure though, i definitely won't have as much time and effort to devote to my kids in the afternoon...they're almost all on their own...oh well...
oh...did i tell about the gifts i got for end of the year?
I got a box of chocolates and a plant. the box of chocolates were nice...from a kid i've been teaching to read...and the plant was from a family whose kid slapped me twice this year, threatened me, stapled his thumb, yells out inappropriate remarks, barks in class, and swats at his ear with his tongue hanging out during classtime......>=( It was funny...when I told my colleague that I got a plant from this kid, she gave me a sympathetic look and said,..." I'm sorry..." haha...so true...I gave the plant to my mom cuz for those who know me, I'm not gonna take care of a plant...I'd probably leave it to die.
